Meet the members of our contracted midwifery care team. This amazing team prides itself on providing inclusive, affirming, and culturally responsive perinatal care to individuals and families.
Selena Eisenberg

Traditional Community Midwife
Selena is a traditional community midwife providing comprehensive perinatal care that blends traditional midwifery with contemporary alternatives. They began their birthwork & midwifery journey in 2007. They also provide training to other community birthworkers and parents.
Michele "Misha" James-Parham
Pronouns: they/them/elle/él
Senior Traditional Community Midwife
Michele is a senior traditional midwife providing inclusive and affirming care to LGBTQ+ & BIPOC clients. They began their birthwork & midwifery journey in 1998. They also serve the community as an abortion chaplain, sex educator, social worker, & therapist.
Jessica "Jess" Brown

Student Midwife (primary under supervision) & Assistant
JB Doula Services & Igi Osè & Amethyst Community Health
Jessica is a student midwife, taking clients as a primary under supervision with Selena & Michele as her supervising & mentoring midwives, as well as serving as a midwife assistant. She began her birthwork & midwifery journey in 2017. Jess also serves as a monitrice, doula who provides specialized support for more medically complex pregnancies, and keeps her EMT credential active.
Leo Xander Jackson

Student Midwife & Midwife Assistant
Igi Osè & Amethyst Community Health
Leo is a student midwife and assistant who is learning from Selena, Michele, & Jess. They officially began their birthwork & midwifery journey in 2024, but have grown up surrounded by the influence of birthworkers. He is also passionate about comprehensive & inclusive sex education, supporting trans youth, and using art as a creative outlet.
